That is a sweet story. I too love Snow White... when I was a kid, I totally associated with her because she was ebony-haired, and I'm a brunette too.
Although... now I'm a stepmom, and I hate the whole "evil stepmother" paradigm. Oh, who am I kidding? I still love Snow White anyway!
My grandma had that jet black hair pale thing when she was young too so I bet that was part of it. I'll have to ask more about the shop. I've always imagined it that way . . . And you're right about the stepmother thing; come on people! Although maybe back in the day when your inheritance was threatened by stepparents it was more of an issue.
